Below are the normal process necessary to go from a customer defined problem or mission to a completed project.
Description of Terms: Hand Concept:Simple hand sketches that describe the problem or mission in concept form with no dimensions or scale. Artist Concept:Professionally drawn concept from verbal instructions. CAD/Solid Modeling:Computer drawings or models made to scale for further study of the structure using simulation programs. CFD Studies:Computational Fluid Dynamics (digital wind tunnel) Precision Design uses the most advanced codes able to simulate multiple properties, phases, and rotating solids in its work. FEA Studies:Finite Element Analyses simulates the structural loading conditions to accurately predict parts sizing. Inboard Profiles:Inboard profiles and other 2D and 3D drawings and models represent the various systems with in the aircraft. When plotted to full scale these drawing reduce errors due to layout techniques. Construction:Precision Design uses in-house developed prototyping techniques and methods for construction as a low cost alternative to more expensive processes. Flight Testing:Precision Design is familiar with flight testing procedures and industry specialists.
